Luanne Stovall is an artist
currently living in Boston, Massachusetts. Her work is focused
on expanding the scope of contemporary art practices in order
to nurture a spirit of more open generosity. She joins colleagues
from all walks of life who enlist art’s generative spirit
in service of a peaceful, more dynamic global community. In addition
to her studio practice, she writes about her interests and supports
other collaborative projects . She developed A New Field Guide
to Color and is teaching this course at the School of the Museum
of Fine Arts, Boston and Mount Ida College’s Chamberlayne
School of Design.
Luanne was born in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Miami University,
The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture
(NYC), Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Skowhegan,
Maine, University of Texas, Austin, Texas. She received an M.F.A.
from Tufts University/ School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Scholarships and award include a School of the Museum of Fine
Arts Deans Travel Research Award, Dean’s Discretionary Fund
Grant: Digital Printing Project, New York City, Tufts University/School
of Museum of Fine Arts, Tuition Scholarships, SMFA Graduate Teaching

New York Studio School, New York City, NYSS Full Tuition Scholarship
to Skowhegan, Skowhegan, Maine. Her work has been exhibited widely
and is included in public and private collections. She has taught
classes, workshops, and seminars at numerous places including
the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, School of the Fine Arts, Boston,
Mount Ida College School of Design, Boston, MA, Galveston College,
Galveston, Texas, and at the Summer Art Institute, Quartz Mountain,
Oklahoma.
