I am looking at the ways we
encode our rituals into patterns. My work recognizes the elastic
weave that binds these rhythms together and calls upon the textured
sensations of color, light, touch, and sound to illuminate the ever
unfolding spectacle.
Heaven’s
net casts wide
Though
its meshes are course
Nothing
slips through

Aftermath
Stranded in the wake of last millennium’s trauma, we are
shocked to find that we managed to survive its closing century
intact, though bouts of blurred vision persist. Dazed and confused,
we scan the debris for positive signs of life and summon the courage
to ask the big questions: What are we doing? Why are we doing
it? Who are we doing it for? Where do we go from here?
A Dream *
As the sun rises on a brand new age, we dream of a place where
our brothers and sisters can all join hands, a place where art’s
generative spirit is called upon to participate more fully in
the ebb and flow of daily life. We can mend our wounds, plant
new seeds, and direct our resources toward a blueprint of a world
that we can celebrate.
I am interested in joining hands with others from all walks of
life to dedicate our efforts toward designing and implementing
programs, products, rituals, and events that can help to realize
this collective dream. If we listen carefully, we can hear Martin
Luther King’s resonant voice reminding us that we have to
have a dream for a dream to come true.* |
