Luanne Stovall

Luanne Stovall is an artist, color theorist, and entrepreneur. Her paintings and works on paper have been exhibited widely in museums and galleries and are included in public and private collections.

A champion of “art for daily life,” Luanne approaches color as a core aspect of perception and meaning deeply woven into everything we do. She believes color literacy can sharpen our senses, expand our awareness, and enhance our ability to communicate.

Luanne founded LU+CO Studios to bring fine art out of the gallery and into the home. She has taught color and design classes at the University of Texas, Austin; The Art Institute of Austin; School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Wellesley College, MA; and MIT’s Sloan School of Business. She is a Board Director of the Inter-Society Color Council.

Luanne was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Miami University, Ohio; New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting, Sculpture; the University of Texas, Austin; and Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Maine. She received an MFA from Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Art, Boston.
