Hero’s Journey I: New Leaf
This series features a modernist ant making her way across time and landscapes, carrying home a freshly harvested leaf. Six of the twelve paintings take place after sundown; the other six represent every other hour between dawn and dusk.
Hero’s Journey II: Picnic
In this series, the modernist ant carries a crumb back to the colony. The landscape is the abstracted grid of a gingham tablecloth, fitted with a color palette representing 12 months in a calendar year. Six hues from the 21st century color wheel are curated into the palette: red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, yellow—plus white (March-August) and black (September-February).
